Frequently asked questions
When will I get reminders?
Each dose gets a reminder at its scheduled time, an optional heads-up beforehand, and gentle follow-ups at 5, 15 and 30 minutes if you haven't logged it. The moment you log or skip a dose — on the phone, the Watch, or from the notification itself — all remaining reminders for it are cancelled.
How does travel shifting work?
When you plan a trip, TimeShift Meds works out the difference between your home and destination timezones and migrates your dose times a little each day — typically 30 minutes — starting a few days before you fly. The gap between doses stays safely even the whole way, and the schedule eases back to normal by the time you land home. Open the trip to see the full day-by-day plan, including a timeline chart and the time since the previous dose.
Why did my dose time change?
TimeShift Meds only ever changes dose times because of a trip you created. Shifted doses are marked "adjusted for travel" in their reminders, and a banner appears on the Today screen while a trip is actively shifting your schedule. Deleting the trip returns everything to your normal times.
Can I adjust an individual dose on a trip?
Yes — open the trip, tap any dose, and set a custom time. The edit applies to that one dose only and survives later changes to your flights. You can remove the custom time at any time.
The Watch shows different times to the phone.
The Watch list updates from the phone. Open TimeShift Meds on your iPhone for a moment and the Watch will refresh. If it still disagrees, restart the Watch app.
Can I import my medications from Apple Health?
Yes — Settings → Import from Apple Health brings in the medications you've set up in the Health app so you don't have to retype them. TimeShift Meds only reads your medication list, never any other Health data. Note that Apple doesn't allow apps to write dose logs back to the Health app, so your dose history lives in TimeShift Meds.
I use Apple Health's own reminders too.
If you track a medication in both places you'll get two sets of reminders. We recommend turning off that medication's reminders in the Health app and letting TimeShift Meds handle them — especially when travelling, since Health won't shift its times for your trip.
How do refill reminders work?
Give a medication an inventory count and TimeShift Meds counts down as you log doses, warning you on the Today screen and with a morning notification when you're running low.
How do I export my history for my doctor?
Adherence → Export creates a PDF report of your dose history you can print or share.
How do I delete my data?
Everything lives on your device, so deleting the app deletes all of its data immediately and permanently. There is no server copy to remove.
