Privacy Policy

Green Monkeys is built on one rule: what happens in the app stays on your phone. This policy is short because there is genuinely nothing going on behind your back.

Information we collect

None. Green Monkeys has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We never see your name, your plans, your verdicts, your scores — or your videos. The app makes no network connections to us or to any third party.

Your videos

The plan, session and morning-after videos you record are the most sensitive thing the app holds, and they are treated that way:

• Stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage, protected with iOS complete file protection (encrypted whenever your phone is locked).
• Excluded from iCloud backup and computer backups.
• Never uploaded, synced, or shared — the app deliberately has no share or export function.
• Optionally locked behind Face ID / your passcode (on by default).

Your plans, verdicts and scores

All session plans, promises, verdicts, scores and "booze crime" records are stored in a local database on your device. They never leave it.

The widget and Apple Watch

The home-screen widget receives only the minimum needed to show the counter: the date of your last reset, your first-use date, and your chosen word — shared privately between the app and its widget on the same device. Your Apple Watch receives the streak number and tonight's plan over the encrypted local connection between your phone and your own Watch. No video or verdict content is ever included in either.

Notifications

Session check-ins and morning-after reminders are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device. No push servers are involved.

Data sharing

We do not share your data with anyone, because we do not have it.

Data retention & deletion

Your data exists only on your phone, so you are in full control:

• Delete any session (with its videos and verdict) inside the app.
• Delete the app to remove everything it ever stored.

We cannot recover deleted data, because we never had a copy.

Children

Green Monkeys is about alcohol and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever changes how data is handled, this page will be updated first, and the app will not quietly change behaviour under you.
