Answers to common questions, and how to reach a human.
The app shows no workouts
How Far/Much only displays workouts already recorded in Apple Health — by your Apple Watch, iPhone or another fitness app. If the app looks empty:
- Check the app has permission to read your data: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → How Far/Much and turn everything on.
- Make sure you have workouts in the selected period — try switching to Year or All.
- Open the Health app → Browse → Activity → Workouts to confirm workouts exist there.
Some workouts show 0 distance
Activities like strength training and yoga don't record distance — they still count towards time, calories and workout totals. If a run shows no distance, the app that recorded it may not have saved distance to Apple Health.
My totals look too big — the same workout counts twice
That usually means two apps recorded the same session (iPhone + Apple Watch, or a third-party tracker + the Watch). Turn on Settings (gear icon) → Ignore duplicates. If the duplicates come from different apps with different workout types, also enable Also match across apps and tune the overlap slider — lower catches more, higher is safer for back-to-back sessions. The app shows how many workouts were ignored as duplicates.
Switching between miles and kilometres
Tap the gear icon and pick Auto, km or mi under Distance unit. Auto follows your iPhone's region setting.
Exporting your workout data
Tap the table icon at the top of the dashboard to export a CSV of every workout in the current view — date, activity, duration, distance in both km and miles, calories and average heart rate. Choose "Save to Files" in the share sheet to download it, or AirDrop it to a Mac.
What do the trends mean?
Open any activity and tap Analyse. The app compares the earlier half of your workouts in the selected period with the more recent half: pace (are you getting faster?), duration (going longer?) and calories per workout (burning more?). You'll need at least four workouts in the period.
Is my data safe?
Yes. The app reads Apple Health on your device, does its sums on your device, and sends nothing anywhere. See the privacy policy — it's short because there's genuinely nothing collected.
