Privacy Policy

Effective 25 September 2026 · updated to cover Apple Health

In short: VoiceSpotter doesn’t collect your data. There’s no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your workouts, plans and settings are stored on your iPhone, and we never receive them.

What the app stores, and where

VoiceSpotter stores your exercises, workouts, sets, training plan and settings only on your device. They are not sent to us or to any third party. We don’t run a server for the app, and it contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.

Like other app data, this information is included in your iPhone’s own backups (to your computer or to iCloud, if you use them). Those backups are managed by Apple under your Apple Account, not by us.

Microphone and speech recognition

VoiceSpotter uses the microphone only when you ask it to: when you tap the mic button, when the app reopens the mic to hear your answer to a question, or while you have hands-free mode switched on. The orange microphone indicator shows whenever it’s listening.

Your speech is turned into text using Apple’s Speech framework. On devices that support it, this happens entirely on your iPhone. On devices that can’t recognise speech on-device, Apple’s speech recognition service processes the audio under Apple’s Privacy Policy. VoiceSpotter does not record, keep or send your audio anywhere else. The text of each set is kept with that set so you can see what was heard.

To make recognition more accurate, the app builds a small speech model on your device from gym phrases and your exercise names. It stays on your device.

Apple Health

Saving to Apple Health is off unless you turn it on (Settings → Apple Health, or during set-up). When it’s on, VoiceSpotter:

Health data stays in Apple Health on your device (and in iCloud if you’ve enabled Health in iCloud). VoiceSpotter doesn’t send it anywhere, doesn’t use it for advertising or marketing, and doesn’t share it with anyone. You can change or withdraw access at any time in the Health app → Sharing → Apps → VoiceSpotter.

Notifications and Live Activities

Rest-timer notifications and the Lock Screen / Dynamic Island countdown are created on your device. No push service is used and nothing is sent off the device.

Siri and Shortcuts

If you use the “Hands-Free Workout” or “Log a Set” shortcuts (including from the Action Button), they simply open VoiceSpotter. No information is shared.

Children
