Something not
working? Start here.

MySpaSimple is built and supported by one person, not a team — most of what goes wrong has a quick answer below.

The app won’t accept my API key Generate it fresh from myarcticspa.com → Spa API Management, for the specific tub you’re pairing, and paste it in with nothing before or after — a trailing space from copying is the usual culprit. “Check and save” tells you immediately whether Arctic accepted it, rather than failing silently.
My Watch shows the pumps in the wrong state The phone sends the key and every state change to the Watch over WatchConnectivity, on-device, with no network hop of its own. A control clears its “Working…” state the moment the tub itself has answered — if it lags past a few seconds, check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi or within Bluetooth range of each other.
Power management or Peak schedule asks me to log in again That’s your myarcticspa.com website login — separate from the API key, because Arctic doesn’t expose power scheduling through the API at all. Sign in once from Settings → Power management and the app keeps you signed in until the site itself ends the session.
The pH / ORP charts are empty Arctic’s API has no history endpoint, so there was never anything to import. The chart starts filling in from the moment you first opened the app on this device — give it a day or two.
I didn’t get an alert when the water drifted out of range Background checks run on iOS’s own schedule (BGAppRefreshTask), which is opportunistic by design — sometimes several times a day, sometimes not for a day or more. Settings says this plainly rather than promising round-the-clock watching the OS won’t actually grant.
How do I remove everything the app has stored? Settings → Forget key clears the API key from this device and the Watch immediately. Deleting the app removes the rest — nothing survives anywhere else, because nothing was ever sent anywhere else.
